EASTENDERS fans have been left in stitches after noticing a plot hole in regards to Penny Branning’s newborn baby.

The character welcomed her son with boyfriend Vinny Panesar in episodes that aired last week but viewers noticed a glaring issue.

In one scene, Penny sat up in the hospital bed next to Vinny as the couple cradled their baby boy.

However, the baby appeared to be much bigger than what a newborn should be.

One person took to to share a screen grab of the moment in question and penned: “Catching up on and I’m shocked to say the least.”

They said over the video: “That ain’t no f*****g newborn mate, that’s a six month-er.”

Somebody commented: “Screaming because people have said how the baby is bigger than Vinny.”

Another TikTok user remarked: “Are we supposed to act like that just came out of her.”

Someone else said: “That’s a whole toddler!”

Yet another wrote on X: “Could EastEnders not find a baby until five months old for Penny? FFS at least try.”

While a fifth added: “Is anyone watching EastEnders?

“Why is Penny and Vinny’s baby big enough to be doing it’s GCSE’s hahahaha.”

Penny was left in shock when she found out she was pregnant and wrestled with her conscience as she didn’t know if the baby was actually Vinny’s or not.

The character had a one night stand with Harry Mitchell prior to getting pregnant but decided not to tell Vinny the truth.

After having the baby, Vinny’s sister-in-law Priya Nandra-Hart overheard Penny confiding in her cousin Lauren Branning about the paternity.

She confronted her, but after being in the exact same situation with Max Branning and Ravi Gulati, the two women decided to keep each other’s secrets.

Priya did a paternity test and it was revealed that she was carrying Max’s baby, after their sordid affair.

She accepted Ravi’s proposal of marriage and later came clean to him about the baby’s paternity before leaving the Square in the back of a taxi.
