He arrived in Albert Square earlier this summer, when he was brought in to lead the investigation into Joel Marshall’s attack.
After Craig gave Amy his personal number last week, the pair later met up secretly.
It was during their secret meeting that Amy confessed she was the one who had hit Joel over the head with a hammer.
Craig vowed to keep Amy’s secret, but has since been suspended from duty after a complaint was made against him.
In Tuesday’s episode of EastEnders, Amy and Craig were seen getting even closer – with things leading to him asking her out.
Amy is 17 in the soap, with Craig’s age not known. But the actor who plays him is 31 in real life.
“Amy, if you want someone to talk to, we could go for a drink?” he said to her.
Amy furrowed her brows and looked confused, leading Craig to backtrack and say: “Unless… No, sorry, bad idea.”
“What?” Amy quizzed.
Craig then said: “Don’t get me wrong, you’re an old soul deep down. I know that, obviously, but I’m just not sure you look… mature enough to get served.”
Amy raised her eyebrows and said: “I can get served. Trust me.”
“Ok, all right, then,” Craig replied, adding: “Well, tomorrow?”.
“Yeah. All right, then,” Amy responded with a smirk on her face.
“Ok. See you then,” he replied, with both Amy and Craig looking incredibly flirty.
One person penned on social media: “The dialogue between Amy and Craig is so bizarre?? they talk as though they’ve known each other or been in a relationship for years.”
“The Amy & Craig stuff is worse than dreadful,” said another.
“I don’t like this at all. It’s clear Craig is starting to groom Amy,” penned a third.
“The dialogue between Amy and Craig today left me feeling completely repulsed,” said a fourth.
While another noted: “Craig follows Avani on socials surely that’s a huge breach ethically and against professional conduct rules.”
