The pitch invader was ushered away by players
The visitors went into the match top of the table, while Duisburg needed a win in order to bolster their play-off hopes.
Florian Kruger struck the home side into the lead on the half hour.
With Duisburg still ahead going into second half stoppage time, the match descended into chaos.
One of their supporters, clad in a replica shirt, scarily ran onto the pitch.
The bespectacled man charged towards the … only to be thwarted by members of his own beloved team.
A Duisburg defender appeared to actively guard the official, pointing towards the fan and gesturing for him to leave the pitch.
While goalkeeper Maximilian Braune grabbed the pitch invader and also motioned back towards the terraces.
Having been met by this resistance, and with a steward lingering, the fan began to run back to the stand.
The match then resumed without a hitch, Duisburg seeing out their 1-0 win.
Their three points saw the North Rhine-Westphalia side move up to fourth in the table with 32 games played.
Osnabruck’s defeat, meanwhile, ended a run of seven league wins on the bounce.
They remain top, three points above second placed Essen.
