A POLITICIAN appeared to slur her words and warned her rivals “we have guns” during a car crash interview – leaving viewers asking if she was drunk.
Democrat candidate Jamie West bumbled through a long and winding tirade in the mind-boggling clip – tearing into Maga Republicans and calling them dumb.
Mincing her words on a televised general election candidates’ forum, she vowed to fire all Donald Trump-supporting Republicans.
She called Maga politicians “racist” and not “very intelligent at all”.
Asked what her message to voters would be at the end of the interview, West stared into the camera bog-eyed and said plainly: “We have guns too.”
West, who is standing for Fayette County Council, District 4, in the Hoosier State, also claimed she had been threatened by Maga Republicans.
At points, the mum-of-three asked the host to repeat questions and slammed the desk to emphasise her points.
Staring vacantly at the host, she said of Maga politicians: “I don’t like them.
“They voted against their own state representative voted against her own party.”
She continued in the cringe-worthy clip: “Y’all did this to us… You made this happen.
“This ICE coming into our communities, stealing people’s jobs.”
“I mean, I’ve been threatened so many times to my face by Maga; we’ll call them, because there’s Republicans who actually get it.
“You know, there are good Republicans out there, but then there’s these Magas who are just racist and aren’t very intelligent at all.”
She added: “They call you names. The sheriff’s nephew threatened to blow my head off. But, you know, what are you going to do?”
Zac Jones, who leads the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office where she is running, responded to claims his nephew threatened to shoot her.
He told Fox News Digital: “I don’t know Jaime West, and she obviously doesn’t know me.
“I have five nieces and zero nephews. I’m not sure what she is talking about, and I’m certain she has no idea what she is talking about either.”
The sheriff added: “It’s a sad day when this is the best the Democrat Party can get to run for this important local office.”
Stunned viewers took to social media to express their confusion – with some thinking the clip was part of a comedic sketch.
One user on X said: “This is not a skit.”
Another wrote: “Jaime West, a Democrat running for Fayette County Council in Indiana, gave an embarrassing interview where she appears to mumble and rant the entire time.
“Is she intoxicated?”
West is running against Republican Gary Keener Jr. in Fayette County.
