A COUPLE who were struggling to make the most of a box room in their London home have shared how they turned it into a “functional space” for just £200.
Jack and Stian were struggling to come up with ideas for how to turn the “tiny” room in their three-bed, zone 4 into a useable space – on a budget.

Then inspiration struck, and they decided to use their DIY skills to , for just £200.
The “husbands who build” took to TikTok to share the transformation process, which they kicked off by giving the room a “quick lime wash job”.
To , they decided to make the bed completely floating, so bolted a timber frame directly into the walls.
“Once the frame was in, we added cross beams with brackets, then laid down a sheet of plywood on top,” they explained.
“To finish it off, we cladded the underside, added smooth wood slats up to the ceiling and built a side rail for safety.”
They finished off by painting the whole thing white, and bought a simple ladder from to be able to access the bed.
“Now, this little box room feels twice the size and it’s completely transformed the space,” they concluded.
“We turned our tiny box room into a functional space for less than £200 by building a floating loft bed,” the pair added in the caption for the video.
“No legs, just bolted straight into the walls. Who else would try this in their home?”
The comments section was instantly filled with praise from viewers, with one writing: “Great job, fantastic idea!”
“Thank you! We can’t believe how much space it’s made! It’s like a different room!” the pair replied.
“Changing the sheets would be a nightmare,” another pointed out.
To which they responded: “Omg tell me about it! It looks great but bedding change over day is a nightmare.”
“Sorry to say I did this for my son 7 years ago,” someone else replied.
“Sheet changing became such a pain. We literally just put normal beds this year!!
“Enjoy why you still have young bones and backs!”
