The Darts Regulation Authority announced on Friday that Taylor had been notified of the results from the December 14 test and had been suspended from competing for the remainder of the tournament.

As a result of this ruling, Taylor's £25,000 prize money from his first-round victory against Oskar Lukasiak has been withheld.

Jonny Clayton, who was scheduled to face Taylor in the second round, was advanced to the third round due to Taylor's removal from the tournament.

On Sunday morning, Taylor took to social media to apologize for his actions, admitting that he had “let down” others after another failed test prior to last year's Ally Pally event.
