As the pup, Odie, jumps on her repeatedly, the hired dogwalker begins to kick him against a shelf before looking up at the camera and realising she was caught in the act.
Odie’s owner, Jess Dobson, said: “I went to check the cameras, as I always do, to check she got in okay.
“That’s when I saw her kicking Odie and I felt sick.”
Video footage from Jess’s doorway shows Knox, from the dog walking service, Unleash the Hounds, entering the 21-year-old’s home and opening the door to Odie.
As the excited dog jumps up and down around Knox, the dog walker is seen turning around appearing to avoid the dog.
She then lifts her leg, kicking Odie against a nearby shelf repeatedly.
After looking up and noticing a camera watching her, she puts a lead on the pup and walks it out of the .
Jess, 21, and her partner, Jake Lockwood, 23, say they had trusted the walker with both their home and their pet, Odie, who suffers from separation anxiety.
The woman, from Norton in Teesside, claims the footage shows Odie being kicked, but Knox disputes the interpretation of events, adding she was merely trying to manage an excitable dog.
Jess said: “She told us she had been doing it for nine years. We explained how Odie with separation anxiety and jumps and gets excited when someone arrives home.
“She said she was used to that and could handle it. She started in the first week of May.”
The couple say that, after seeing the footage, they immediately decided to stop using the service, adding: “She still had him out at the time so I didn’t say anything at first.
“Instead, I asked my mother-in-law to collect our key as we didn’t want to use her anymore.”
Debbie said: “I put my leg out to push him away, but he lunged at the same time, losing his balance and fell into the bookcase.
“This looks like a kick due to the camera angle, but my foot didn’t touch him; it was my leg.”
Odie was later taken to the vet after becoming unwell, but Debbie maintains the dog showed no signs of during the walk and says she has video of him “running around having the best time”.
Jess said: “Following the incident, my dog went off his food for the remainder of Tuesday and all of Wednesday.
“He also vomited and, due to his existing stomach issues, we took him to the vet. He has since been prescribed pain relief.
“Whether these symptoms are directly connected to the incident cannot be proven, but they began on the same day he was kicked.”
Debbie, of Stockton, Stockton-based Unleash The Hounds, has released a statement on social media denying kicking the dog.
She said: “I’m sure by now you have all seen the viral post of me supposedly kicking a dog.
“The police have advised me not to comment on social media and to take down my business page containing my address for safety reasons.
“But I feel that I need to tell my side of things as so few people have asked.”
Debbie also said the RSPCA reviewed the full footage and took no further action.
She said: “The RSPCA have seen the full video and came to see me to let me know a complaint had been made but they were satisfied that the dog wasn’t hurt and they are not taking any further action.
“I haven’t eaten or slept since Monday and I’m constantly looking over my shoulder scared that I’m going to be attacked.
“My children are scared my husband is so worried. This is a horrendous nightmare.”
