DEREK CHISORA believes that Tyson Fury poses the greatest threat to Fabio Wardley’s chance for an undisputed title shot against Oleksandr Usyk.
The 30-year-old from Ipswich recently triumphed over Joseph Parker, establishing himself as the No. 1 contender for the Ukrainian champion.

Fury was engaged in intense sparring, raising doubts about the permanence of his latest retirement
However, just as his celebrations began, the Gypsy King was involved in rigorous sparring sessions, leading to speculation that his recent retirement may not last long.
The WBO has instructed the undefeated 38-year-old southpaw to take action or risk losing their title.
Moreover, the promoter, who has previously led Fury and Daniel Dubois to defeats against Usyk, is optimistic about negotiating with Team Usyk to arrange a UK showdown with Wardley in spring 2026.
Nevertheless, the 41-year-old, a close friend and past opponent of both Fury and Usyk, disclosed that a more lucrative opportunity might hinder Wardley’s aspirations.
“I doubt he’ll get the fight,” the well-known veteran expressed to SunSport regarding Wardley’s hard-earned chance at greatness.
“Usyk’s team will demand a substantial amount, especially since he has earned a lot from his two fights in Saudi Arabia.”
“Then he received a hefty payment to come to the UK for the fight against Daniel Dubois. The last time I spoke to him, he mentioned that he wants ‘big money’.”
“And Tyson is eager to return and face Usyk. The Gypsy King is making a comeback.”
Fury spent the previous week training at his Morecambe gym, engaging in tough sparring rounds with Leicester fighter Mark Ahondjo.
In the boxing industry, a needless Usyk trilogy, featuring the outspoken 6ft 9in Netflix sensation who is already 2-0 against Fury, would likely generate more revenue than a match with Wardley.
Additionally, the 33-year-old former world champion Parker was leading on two scorecards and tied on the third, prompting some fans to argue that the stoppage was premature—leading to calls for a rematch.
Chisora, who is planning his own 50th professional fight, believes he has a solution to ensure everyone is compensated and satisfied.
He suggested: “Parker and Wardley should have a rematch and then pay Usyk to relinquish the title. He has done it before for AJ [Anthony Joshua] and Daniel Dubois.”
“Then he can return to fight the winner at Tottenham or Wembley, and that would be perfect.”
