The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has declared that democracy has come to stay in Nigeria.

Obasa made this declaration in a statement to commemorate this year’s Democracy Day.

The statement, which was signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Dave Agboola, was made available to DAILY POST on Thursday.

Obasa, in the statement, declared that democracy has come to stay in the country.

He explained that each Nigerian has played one role or the other in its success.

While speaking further, Obasa urged the citizens to actively engage in the democratic process.

He used the opportunity to urge the people of Lagos to keep the hope of democracy alive and recognise their pivotal role in shaping the future of their communities.

Obasa, who spoke further, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s dedication to improving security, driving economic development, and empowering communities.

Obasa said, “Democracy has come to stay in Nigeria, and every one of us plays a vital role in its success. Your voice matters, your vote matters.

“Together, we can ensure effective governance that delivers on the promises of democracy.

“Remain supportive of the current administration. Efforts are continually underway to deliver the dividends of democracy to every citizen.”;
