Protests have commenced in the Federal Capital Territory to demonstrate against the rising hardship and insecurity in the country.
In Abuja, heavily armed security personnel were deployed to strategic locations across the city ahead of the protest.
The presence of operatives was particularly noticeable at major junctions, the National Assembly, and other key areas where protesters might have gathered.
However, the protest, which began in the Apo area of Abuja, coincided with Nigeria’s Democracy Day, where protesters were seen chanting solidarity songs and waving placards to express their grievances.

DAILY POST earlier reported that at Ikeja Underbridge.

They were said to be members of civil society groups and pro-democracy activists. Demonstrators gathered at various locations, ignoring early morning security patrols.

Protesters in both cities carried banners with write-ups such as “End Hardship Now,”; “Secure Our Lives,”; and “Democracy for the People.”;
