TWO Delta passenger planes were involved in a frightening collision at New York’s LaGuardia Airport, resulting in the wing of one aircraft being ripped off and a flight attendant sustaining injuries.
The CRJ-900 regional jets, both operated by Delta's subsidiary Endeavor Air, made contact with each other around 9:56 PM on Wednesday night while taxiing at low speeds.

Alarming footage captures the aftermath: one plane's wing severely damaged, the nose of the other visibly dented, and passengers left stranded as emergency vehicles rushed to the scene.
A CBS News producer onboard recounted the terrifying moment, describing how his plane was "absolutely smashed."
“We were taxiing to our runway when we were violently struck by another Delta flight… I’m not sure if we hit them or they hit us, but it was incredibly jarring,” he stated.
“Everyone lurched forward in their seats; it was chaotic, and we were stunned by what occurred.”
The collision involved Endeavor Air flight 5155, scheduled to depart for Roanoke, Virginia, and Endeavor Air flight 5047, which had just arrived from Charlotte, North Carolina.
No passengers were injured, but a flight attendant, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was transported to the hospital as a precaution.
Images and videos documented the chaos—flashing lights from fire trucks and police vehicles, crew and passengers being directed onto the tarmac, and the crumpled wreckage of one jet's nose.
All 85 passengers were required to deplane and were transported back to Terminal C by bus.
Delta confirmed that they were provided with food, hotel accommodations, and will be rebooked on new flights today.
