The Chairman of the Isoko South Local Government Area in Delta State, Warri Friday, has emphasized the importance of following proper procedures and making wise decisions when assigning teachers to their respective roles.
Warri made this statement during the swearing-in and oath-taking ceremony for the newly appointed Secretary of the Isoko South Local Government Education Authority in Oleh, Isoko South LGA.
He urged the newly sworn-in Local Education Authority Secretary to strictly follow due process, cautioning against the illegal collection of money from students and teachers for placement in preferred positions.
Warri explained that the inauguration of Blessing Ese occurred after the tenure of Mr. Pius Emamowho, the former Executive Secretary of the LGA, came to an end.
“You must diligently adhere to due process and exercise sound judgment when assigning teachers to their respective duties.
“I will not accept the indefinite deployment of teachers; ensure that you follow a careful process and make informed decisions before proceeding with such actions. Teachers must also remain at their designated posts, as some tend to reassign themselves immediately.
“Furthermore, no one is above the law; adhere to the rules and regulations governing this office. Additionally, any unauthorized collection of money from students and teachers for placement in preferred positions will not be tolerated.
“You are representing the council in the education sector, particularly in primary schools. I pray that your tenure as LEA Secretary will be a successful one,” he stated.
In response, Mr. Blessing Ese committed to fulfilling his new responsibilities for the benefit of the Isoko South community and to honor God for making this possible. He indicated that he would work closely with the staff of the LEA to diligently carry out his duties and meet the expectations placed upon him.
“I am thankful to the Chairman for the opportunity to serve. God has greatly used you to make this possible. From the bottom of my heart, I extend my gratitude. By God’s grace, you and the people of Isoko South will not be disappointed. With divine guidance, I will ensure that Isoko South reaps greater benefits from this appointment, thereby enhancing the welfare of the community in the education sector,” he added.
