The jury heard he had been out with friends and had also been taking cocaine.

CCTV showed Shara’s body being removed from the back of Singh’s white sprinter van and left on the pavement on Woodburn Road in in Smethwick, , in the early hours of August 11 last year.

AdBlue – a chemical used in diesel cars – was poured and shaken over her in a bid to get rid of any forensic evidence.

The court heard Singh even stole from her purse before driving away, reports the BBC .

The victim was found wearing only her bra, around 6am with head injuries, with stating “it was clear nothing could be done to save her”.

Forensic examination showed her cause of death was strangulation – and officers launched a murder .

Trawling through CCTV, detectives found footage of the van pulling into the road at 1am, with Shara’s body removed half an hour later.

Earlier in the night, the vehicle was seen on Soho Road, Handsworth, and the victim was seen getting in the van on Victoria Road.

The van was found to have been registered to a rental company and was being used as a vehicle for parcel delivery.

Further inquiries showed Singh had been in possession of the van at the time of the murder.

Police then swooped on his home address in West Bromwich and he was stopped near his house before being arrested and subsequently charged.

Following a two-week trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court, Singh was convicted of murder on Friday (May 15) and will be sentenced on May 27.

The court heard , from Boston, Lincolnshire, had struggled with a “cycle of addiction” and was known to support workers in the area.

Singh had paid for sexual acts more than 100 times previously with different women – and told the court he was “embarrassed” about his actions.

He pleaded guilty to manslaughter, claiming Shara’s death was an accident – but later admitted he knew she was already dead when he left her on the street.

Text messages shown to the court included him saying “Van, Rope, Pills” in exchanges with friends about a woman on the internet he found attractive.

Prosecutor Rachel Brand said “perhaps [to Singh] a woman like her, a sex worker, is unimportant and disposable”.

“It was a violent attack on a slightly built woman in no position to fight back,” she said.

DI Joe Davenport, Homicide Unit, said: “Shara was brutally killed by a dangerous predator.

“Singh was drinking in a pub earlier in the night and visited Soho Road to look for sex workers. He then picked Shara up in his van and she was fatally attacked.

“He attempted to get rid of any trace of his presence by pouring a liquid over Shara’s body to destroy any forensic evidence.

“My thoughts are with Shara’s loved ones, and I thank them for the support during this investigation and trial.”
