‘Defenders hate facing him’ – Strachan insists Man Utd should’ve signed Delap

Former Manchester United midfielder Gordon Strachan has insisted that the Red Devils should have signed Chelsea target Liam Delap.

Strachan said this after Manchester United completed the signing of Cuhna from Premier League side Wolves at the weekend.

According to him, Delap, who is all set to join Chelsea from Ipswich Town this summer transfer window, could have been the ideal partner for Cunha upfront.

He noted that defenders hate playing against Delap, adding that he is a great finisher.

“I think Liam Delap would have been a brilliant signing for [Manchester] United if he hadn’t chosen Chelsea,”; Strachan told Esports Insider.

“He is young, hungry, has no baggage coming from Ipswich, is a great finisher and defenders don’t like coming up against him.

“Cunha and Delap would have been a nice, fresh combo.”;
