While Stand Up To Cancer has always been something that means a lot to Davina, the charity is more poignant now more than ever, after the star has gone through her own cancer battle this year.

In November, she revealed she has been .

The popular presenter’s diagnosis came a year after .

However, she then discovered a 4mm lump on her breast.

It was removed and she has been given the all clear.

Last night’s Stand Up To Cancer was live from Adam Brooks Hospital in Cambridge.

Speaking on the show, Davina said: “It feels super important to be part of the show, especially now.

“I found out back in October that I had breast cancer, and I was caught very early.”

Later Davina was seen chatting to a woman who was also going through a breast cancer journey and was at the hospital to find out if the disease had spread.

The woman was seen being given the all clear from cancer but still needed a course of radiotherapy.

After speaking to the doctor, she went to talk to Davina where she revealed her good news.

The presenter then revealed this is the same course of treatment she would be having.

Davina said: “(You’re having radiotherapy) in January? That’s when I’m having mine!”

She then asked the woman when she was having her appointment to discuss radiotherapy with the doctor, and she said it was next week.

Davina then revealed that was also when she would be having hers.

“When’s your next appointment for radiotherapy? Monday? No! Mine is too,” she said.

EMOTIONAL TIME

During the broadcast, the star emotionally opened up about her sister, Caroline, in 2012.

She said: “I took my sister Caroline to A&E, she’d fainted and she couldn’t get up. They gave her a brain scan but then they scanned her chest and i couldn’t understand why.

“That’s when she was diagnosed with late stage lung cancer, and she died seven weeks later.

“I was holding her hand,” Davina said, her voice breaking as she held back tears.

After a breath, she continued: “And that’s why early diagnosis really matters to me.”

Caroline sadly passed away aged 50.

Talking about her beloved sister, Davina previously said: “I wish she was here so I could tell her how great life is. I never thought she would die at 50, she was a great person, she still had so much more to give. It was the worst thing that has ever happened to me.”

She added: “She taught me so much in her death, she tried to look after me, she was so brave, she never cried and she never complained.’

While Stand Up To Cancer has always been something that means a lot to Davina, the charity is more poignant now more than ever, after the star has gone through her own cancer battle this year.

Davina also shared that she wants to show people the process of being diagnosed from inside a hospital via the “Cancer Clinic” show, which aired straight after Stand Up To Cancer.

The show followed real patients in their appointments at the hospital, which stayed open late to let the cameras inside.

The Channel 4 programme also marked Davina’s return to TV for the first time since her last week.
