The leaders of the WORLD DARTS FEDERATION have faced another setback as a second competitor has withdrawn from the World Championship at the last moment.
The tournament commenced at Lakeside on Friday, with the final scheduled for December 7.

However, Andy Davidson has made a last-minute decision to withdraw for health reasons.
This follows David Pallett's announcement that he will also not participate in the competition.
Pallett's withdrawal allowed Marcus Maier to step in as an immediate replacement.
Nevertheless, the WDF confirmed that Davidson's spot will not be filled by another competitor, giving Jeff Springer Jr an automatic advancement to the last 16.
The statement, posted on X , stated: “For health reasons, 15th seed Andy Davidson has unfortunately had to withdraw from the 2025 WDF World Championships.
“According to WDF regulations, Davidson will not be replaced in the tournament bracket since the competition has already begun.
“As a result, his scheduled opponent Jeff Springer Jr will receive a bye into the last 16.”
Davidson, who claimed victories at the Malta Masters and Welsh Open in 2024, was originally set to compete against Springer Jr in the second round on Wednesday.
However, the American has now received a walkover victory and will face either Jason Brandon or Mitchell Lawrie for a chance to reach the quarter-finals.
Springer Jr progressed from the first round of the World Championship after achieving a 3-1 victory over Bradley Kirk on stage yesterday.
After splitting the initial two sets, he secured the next two without dropping a single leg.
Springer Jr became the first player to advance to the last 16 following Davidson's withdrawal.
He previously defeated Paul Lim in the final last year.
Lawrie, who Springer Jr may potentially compete against, advanced after overcoming Japan's Tomoya Maruyama.
