The Katsina-Ala Legislative House has passed a Bill of Remembrance to immortalise the late Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Danlami Usman, popularly known as Dan Zuru, by renaming a major street in the township in his honour.

ASP Danlami, celebrated for his courage and relentless efforts to restore peace in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area and the broader Sankera axis, was among the officers killed during a deadly ambush on Friday, September 19, 2025.

He and several colleagues were attacked by suspected Fulani bandits at Agu Centre in Mbatyula/Mberev Council Ward.

The motion to rename the street was moved by Hon. Chai Aondover, Councillor representing Ikurav Tiev II Council Ward, and seconded by Hon. Deayongo Clement of Mbayongo Ward. It also received strong backing from Hon. Tyopav Aondona of Ikurav Tiev I Ward, underscoring the community’s resolve to honour the fallen officer’s sacrifice.
