A DAD who threatened to behead his son’s teacher after she told off his child for bad behaviour has been jailed.

The terrifying threats came after the man’s nine-year-old son had been moved to another class because of his poor behaviour.

The teacher reportedly told the child not to “play the tough guy”.

But this was apparently the final straw for the unhinged parent – who stormed into the school car park on September 4.

Abdelkader threatened to decapitate the teacher – before raging at more staff members inside the school, including the headteacher.

His words have been slammed as “extremely worrying” and of “great violence” by the judge presiding over his trial in Toulouse.

The threats echoed the horrifying murder of Samuel Paty – a by an Islamist terrorist in October 2020.

The crazed extremist cut the head off the and geography teacher after Paty showed cartoons of the Prophet Muhammed in a class on .

Judge Fabrice Rives said these latest threats inevitably recalled the horror killing which “has remained in the minds of all French people”.

Abdelkader has now been jailed for six months in a move his lawyers called “very rare”.

They pleaded with the court to judge the man as a father and not “in consideration of his Muslim religion”.

The dad told the court: “I am not someone who is violent by nature. I don’t know what happened to me that day.”

But prosecution lawyers said that the teacher, 58, had been left “traumatised” by the row.

The woman, who had worked at the school for 14 years, was considering quitting her job following the threats to her life, her lawyers claimed.

Two of Abdelkader’s children are being moved to another school to protect staff from the dad’s violent outbursts.

The father is also barred from contacting teachers or going near a school for three years.

Education minister Édouard Geffray said: “No teacher should be afraid to do their job. To attack one of them is to attack the institution as a whole.”
