CRYSTAL PALACE have agreed a deal to appoint Pierre Sage as their new manager.

The Frenchman, 47, has agreed a three-year deal to leave Lens and replace at Selhurst Park.

Sage was named Ligue 1 manager of the year this season after finishing second to European champions.

He also won the Coupe de France, the first time Lens have won the competition in their history.

Sage’s deal includes the option to extend his contract by another year to 2030, with Lens earning an initial £2.5million in compensation with another £1.7m in bonuses, according to sources in France.

Palace have long tracked Sage and move to appoint him after their top target, Andoni Iraola, .

The Spaniard, who decided to leave Bournemouth after three years this summer, approached Palace in January and held lengthy discussions over a move to London before Liverpool swooped following their decision to .

Glanser, who announced his decision to leave in January, won the FA Cup, Community Shield and Conference League becoming the most successful manager in the club’s history.

Palace are expected to strengthen this summer ahead of their first ever campaign in the Europa League.
