Cruz Beckham's Musical Triumph Leaves Estranged Brother Brooklyn Fuming, Friends Say

AFTER A successful set at Reading Festival and an impressive debut EP, Cruz Beckham is flying high as he follows in the footsteps of his Spice Girl mum Victoria.

But the newfound success is a far cry from the career path his older brother went down – and we’re told it’s not sitting well with his estranged sibling.

But one thing that hasn’t been discussed is how tough Cruz’s musical success will be for Brooklyn to take.

While , have managed to escape the ‘nepo-baby’ playbook, by refusing to use his name to get ahead, the same can’t be said for Brooklyn’s several careers.

From starting out as a model to releasing his own photography book -which was widely mocked – Brooklyn has tried it all when it comes to his professional life.

Now a budding chef, he launched his hot sauce brand Cloud 23 back in 2024 – with the name a nod to his dad’s football jersey number.

However, he often and has long been subjected to mocking over his several career choices, with fans dubbing him a nepo baby.

This, sources tell The Sun, makes his youngest brother’s meteoric music success a tough pill to swallow.

“Brooklyn’s definitely got a case of the green-eyed monster when it comes to Cruz. He might say he wants nothing to do with his family, but he’s definitely watching Cruz’s success from afar,” an insider said.

“Not only is Cruz gaining success and being taken seriously on the music scene, but it’s also widely known that he’s refused his parents’ attempts to ‘connect him’. He’s made it very clear that he wants to, and will be, doing this on his own – and with his band.”

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Cruz and his bandmates had been playing venues under a variety of different names.

From supporting rock band The Royston Club to doing the club circuit that all up-and-coming groups start out in, Cruz made it very clear he wasn’t going to take a fast-track to having his name in lights.

“A few years back, was so excited at the prospect of having him ‘follow in her footsteps’ in terms of being in a pop band, she was thinking big – we’re talking trajectory.

“But even in his early teens, Cruz made it very clear that wasn’t him. He wasn’t in this for celebrity, he didn’t want the kind of fame that was empty and fawning, he wanted to learn the instruments, to sit in his bedroom for hours humming tunes and creating songs,” the source continued.

“When he first started, Cruz initially wanted to drop the Beckham name and only go by the band’s name, he was adamant to the point of being obstinate about not using the Beckham machine.”

This, our source says, is a far cry from Brooklyn’s rise to prominence – which has featured plenty of celeb connections and brand promotions, as well as a high-profile internship with legendary photographer Rankin.

From his A-list filled wedding to multi-millionaire heiress to frequent parties with and dipping his toe in several careers; Brooklyn has embraced his built-in celebrity status.

However, our source says he and Cruz have very different outlooks when it comes to fame.

Cruz observed his oldest brother Brooklyn growing up; their relationship has always been a bit thorny and they have very different personalities and values.

“It’s no secret they’ve clashed a lot. Brooklyn was happy to live the celeb lifestyle, use his parents’ connections and post tributes to Nicola on social media, but Cruz isn’t like that.”

While Cruz is happy to be connected to his famous family personally, they added that professionally, he’s not afraid of putting in the hard work to shed the Beckham name.

Brooklyn, despite being estranged from his family – who he branded ‘controlling’ and claimed they operated as ‘Brand Beckham’ – still goes by Beckham-Peltz, his double-barrelled married name.

As well as Cruz’s success, middle son Romeo is carving out a career for himself in the modelling industry, after attempting to follow in dad David’s footballer footsteps.

The whole family, bar Brooklyn, were out in force last weekend to support Cruz during his performance at a mud-drenched Reading Festival – a far cry from their usual summer stomping ground of yachts in the Med and luxury villas.

But, amid the family dramas which have plagued them since Brooklyn’s wedding, they couldn’t be prouder of their second son.
