But in scenes shown on the soap opera today, Will finally realised that he following a heart-to-heart with taxi driver, Tim Metcalfe.
Fans of the show know how Will had stolen money and planned to jet off with Megan to start a life together abroad.
Will had been planning to meet her at the airport and catch a flight to France despite telling his family he was catching a train to Scotland to stay with his mum.
As secrets began to spill out back at the pub, including the revelation that Will was the one behind the money going missing, his family soon realised that he had no plans to go to Scotland and instead was making a last-ditch attempt to be with Megan.

Having managed to get a message to Tim to not drop him off, Will surprisingly opened up on his ‘connection’ with Megan.
It came as Tim revealed his own story in which he also had a ‘relationship’ with an older woman, Trisha, as a school boy.
Tim confessed how he thought he was super cool by embarking on the romance but as an older man began to understand how he had been raped by Trisha in the eyes of the law as a result of him being under the age of consent.
The cabbie told Will how it had only become clear to him recently what had happened and although he didn’t feel affected by it, much like Will’s current stance with Megan, how he understood the ramifications letting someone get away with a crime like that could be.
Having heard his story, Will finally confirmed he was sleeping with Megan to Tim but admitted he was happy and that they were “in love”.
He then admitted he was on the way to the airport to be with her.
Tim agreed to drop him there but encouraged him to think about what he was doing as they continued to chat about the relationship.
However, Tim eventually pulled up to the police station and encouraged Will to go inside and tell his story.
Tim said to Will: “Don’t let her do it again to somebody else, eh?”
A furious Will insisted he had been “tricked” as Tim said he’d still take him to the airport if he wanted to but suggested it wasn’t the right thing to do.
But Tim continued to point out how Will’s parents had been “through hell” over the ordeal as he heavily suggested that Megan had likely fled without him given that she had the cash and his boarding passes and didn’t tell him any details about the trip.
In the episode’s final scene, Will was seen walking into the police station as his dad, Eva and gran Maggie could be seen waiting for him.
Having finally accepted what had happened to him, Will hugged his dad.
The emotional moment saw the warring father and son reunite whilst also poignantly highlighting how Tim had faced the same difficulty but had never been brave enough to speak on it at the time.
With Tim’s wife Sally having encouraged him to speak to Trisha about what went on, will Will’s ordeal finally help Tim to have closure about his own?
