Rupert, who was first introduced as a slimy executive at rival firm Rest Easy, will swoop in and try to buy the business from a devastated George.

He appeared on the soap for two months in 2024, and created a bitter battle with George as he tried to poach his work partner Todd Grimshaw after he refused to sell the company to him.

Peter’s return was confirmed by his agents Thinking Actors in a recent post on social media.

It read: “Thinking Actors’ Peter Carroll is back filming next week for ITV’s .”

Last month, after penning a brand new contract.

In his caption, he wrote: “New contract? Cheers Corrie, don’t mind if I do. (I bit their hand off!).”

He then made reference to his role as George Shuttleworth, the son of the late undertaker Archie Shuttleworth, and said: “Can’t wait to see what’s around the corner for George (aside from more corpses)”.

One fan was quick to reply and put: “You play one of the best characters on the cobbles for sure!”

Another posted: “This is brilliant news and well deserved.

“Congratulations looking forward to seeing more of George and Todd this year and of course more of George and “.
