A CORONATION Street actress has put pen to paper on a brand new contract to keep her on the soap.

made a surprise comeback to the programme as Eva Price last year and it seems that she is very much enjoying being back on the cobbles.

The Sun can exclusively tell how Catherine has agreed to stay for another year and signed a new 12-month contract with bosses last month.

It came after the star spent seven years away from the show and had to be wooed into agreeing to make a comeback.

Our source said: “Cath’s return was a big risk for her.

“She’d built up a great career away from Weatherfield that not everyone who leaves manages to do but being back has just been perfect.

“It means she can spend more time with her family and still do the job she loves.

“She’s going to continue to be at the heart of the show and was happy to extend her return for another year.”

ITV had no comment when contacted by The Sun.

Catherine has seen her character become landlady of the Rovers and she has settled back into Weatherfield life with her new family – the Driscolls.

Her first year back has seen her enjoy a long-running feud with her mother-in-law Maggie and being left reeling when it is revealed her step-son Will has been groomed by his running coach.
