A Coronation Street star has given a significant indication that she may be returning to the cobbles—six years after her exit from ITV.

She appeared on the ITV soap opera from 2004 until 2019 when she left the role after the birth of her first child.

Brooke, 33, who portrayed Sophie Webster, was last seen on screen in Weatherfield when she left to travel after receiving an inheritance from her aunt.

However, as her two children are growing up, she has expressed interest in returning to the show if the producers make the call.

She told the Mirror : “I feel like Corrie is home for me. Whenever, if ever, they ask me, I’d love to go back and see everyone.”

“It’s a different type of job now that I have the boys. I have many friends there; it feels like family.”

“It’s such a wonderful place to work, and I feel like I’ve had a long break during which I could enjoy my children without the demanding schedule that can be challenging at times.”

“Now that they’re a bit older and more independent, there’s definitely an opportunity for me to take on more work.”

“It’s all about adult conversations and routine; it’s always been a lovely place for me to work. Although I’ve worked in different environments and with various people, Corrie is a significant part of me, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have that.”

Earlier this year, she reunited with the show’s current cast at an exclusive farewell party for Colson Smith, who was let go from his role as Craig Tinker .

While Colson has collaborated with numerous stars during his time in Weatherfield, Brooke's presence at the gathering raised eyebrows among soap fans.

She arrived with another returning star who briefly reprised his role as Jason Grimshaw.

Taking to social media, Brooke shared a photo from the party where she posed with Colson.

This sparked even more speculation about a potential comeback as she captioned the image: “A million memories together, my work little/big brother, I adore you, and I am so excited for your next adventure.”

“A true friend, loved by everyone; last night showed that. See you soon, my friend!”

In reaction to Brooke’s unexpected appearance, one fan commented: “Should I read anything into Brooke being at Colson’s leaving party? Is a Sophie Webster return on the horizon?”

ITV executives are engaged in a struggle to save the financially troubled soap.

This has led to multiple stars being either dismissed from or leaving the long-running series.

Colson Smith – Craig Tinker

Craig Tinker’s character is being phased out. After being informed of the decision in Autumn 2024, Colson Smith confirmed that he would be written out of the show, with scenes airing later this year. Craig’s on-screen mother, Beth Tinker, also departed the show in the summer when the actress was written out of her role.

Sue Cleaver – Eileen Grimshaw

After 25 years portraying Eileen Grimshaw, former campmate Sue Cleaver is also leaving. The Sun on Sunday reported in January that she has already begun filming her exit scenes; however, the character will not be killed off in case Sue decides to return in the future.

Luca Toolan – Mason Radcliffe

The decision was made to eliminate the teenage character after the show. Recent scenes depicted his friend Dylan bringing a knife to defend him.

Sue Devaney – Debbie Webster

In November 2024, it was revealed that Debbie Webster would be leaving the cobbles. The character is set to die as part of a long-running heartbreaking dementia storyline.
