CORONATION Street star Jack Carroll has spoken out following his departure from the soap – and has disclosed his new career path.

Viewers witnessed Bobby go on holiday and subsequently disappear, choosing to remain abroad – this abrupt exit left audiences puzzled – but the understated nature was precisely what Jack desired.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun, he stated: “That seems to be the trend in the way they handle exits now; it's a bit more subtle because it provides everyone with more flexibility if there’s a need to rearrange certain elements in the future.

“So yes, I was quite thankful that they offered me that opportunity and didn’t write me off in any dramatic way. Ultimately, I believe it was the best option for my situation and what I required at that moment.”

However, making the decision to leave after just 18 months on the cobbles was not easy for Jack.

“It’s such a significant cultural institution, so it’s truly an honor to have worked on the show from that perspective,” he remarked.

“Moreover, everyone from top to bottom is incredibly kind, and you get to collaborate with genuinely wonderful people. Therefore, it’s always challenging to weigh the pros and cons of such decisions.

“That’s why it’s somewhat comforting that I left in a more understated manner, as it leaves the door open for a possible return in the future.”

Now that Jack has departed from Corrie, he has been able to organize his new tour.

The BAFTA-winning star, who gained fame at age 14 on Britain’s Got Talent, is set to embark on a national tour next year.

The Fall Guy will kick off in Bradford in February and will visit 22 cities before concluding in November 2026 in Stockton.

Regarding his tour, Jack commented: “If you’ve seen my stand-up on television before, there’s not a significant departure from that material.

“I’ll still be discussing similar themes, as that’s the primary lens through which I view everything else. However, there are additional topics I will address.

“I believe the writers, when I first joined the show, did an excellent job of capturing the essence of my stand-up persona in those early scenes.

“So I think that’s a good indicator of what to expect if you come to see me on the tour.”

Looking ahead, Jack is grateful that the door remains open to return to Weatherfield.

He stated: “Of course, the circumstances would need to be suitable. But from my perspective, there’s certainly no reason why I wouldn’t consider it. Ultimately, it’s about the right circumstances and the storyline aligning with the show’s needs.

“But yes, in principle, there’s no reason I would dismiss the opportunity.”
