As it stands airs at 8pm for 30 minutes, with then following at 8.30pm to make up a so-called soap power hour on ITV.
But tonight that won’t be the case.
Instead viewers will be greeted by an international match between and .
In previous years the schedule shake-ups would mean the episodes moving to a later time – either in the week or onto days when the soaps didn’t air.
However with the new five day per week schedule there is less room for manoeuvre so long-standing fixtures can be accounted for.
And in some cases there will be Sunday broadcasts for the soaps.
Which is what will happen this week with tonight’s episodes airing from 7pm on Sunday night.
Emmerdale and Corrie will return on Monday in their usual slots between 8 and 9pm – but they will once again be bumped off air on Tuesday night.
