FANS of popular British soap opera programmes, Coronation Street and Emmerdale, may be confused as to why neither show is airing tonight.
But don’t worry, fans of the long-running shows won’t have to wait long for the next episodes to be back on the schedule.

When are Coronation Street and Emmerdale back on ITV?
Both and won’t be on live telly tonight due to a scheduling shake-up.
That’s mainly due to hosting Uruguay at Wembley Stadium from 7pm – coverage of which is being shown by ITV.
Although, to make up for tonight’s loss, room has been made for the two soap operas to air live on Sunday.
Emmerdale will begin at 7pm, with Coronation Street starting at 7:30pm, just two days after they traditionally air.
Looking further ahead, another week of chaotic schedule changes, largely due to international sports fixtures, mean both programmes will air next as well.
Fortunately, from then onwards things appear to be returning to normal schedule-wise.

When are Coronation Street and Emmerdale usually on?
Both Corrie and Emmerdale can be streamed on ITV1 and ITVX.
Usually the popular British soaps air from 8-9pm on weekdays, with Coronation Street on at 8.30pm and Emmerdale airing live 30 minutes earlier at 8pm.
However, as is the case this weekend and next, occasionally a busy ITV schedule can cause delays.
It’s not the first time the two programmes’ schedule has been interrupted by sport this month.
On March 6, fans of the soaps were left annoyed when rugby took priority over their form of entertainment.
