CORONATION Street star Channique Sterling-Brown has reportedly left the show after three years.
The actress has portrayed Dee Dee Bailey since 2022 and has been part of some of the show’s most notable recent storylines.
It is now said that she is preparing to film her final scenes.
A source informed Express.co.uk : “Posters are displayed around the Corrie set behind the scenes; it is widely known that Channique is leaving, and the cast has been informed.”
Reports suggest Channique is departing to pursue other opportunities outside of the soap.
The actress has been one of the most prominent stars in the soap over the past few years, taking the spotlight as her character became embroiled in the villain Joel Deering’s actions.
Dee Dee fought to reveal the truth about the malevolent Joel and his grooming and abuse of young women, shortly before his demise.
She went on to give birth to his child in distressing circumstances, after opting against an abortion, only to fall victim to medical negligence rooted in racism.
Dee Dee was compelled to undergo a hysterectomy and later entrusted her baby Laila to her brother James for upbringing.
However, months later, she had a change of heart, and now the siblings co-parent the child.
