Jamie Sherfield, aged 41, was reported missing on Friday, November 7, after failing to attend a roll call, according to the police.

He is currently serving a four-year sentence for robbery and possession of a knife, along with an eight-year recall.

The authorities described Sherfield as a white male, standing 6 feet 2 inches tall, of medium build, with grey hair, a full beard, and blue eyes.

He also has a tattoo that reads ‘JIMBOY’ on his hand.

Sherfield was last seen wearing a blue Hugo Boss jumper, a purple Ralph Lauren polo shirt, blue jeans, black Nike trainers, and a black SEKONDA sports watch.

Police are urgently appealing for assistance in locating the escaped inmate and have cautioned the public against approaching him.

A spokesperson for Suffolk Police stated: “Members of the public are advised not to approach him and should call police on 999 immediately if they spot him.

“Anyone who has any information regarding his whereabouts is encouraged to contact Suffolk police at 101.”

Hollesley Bay is classified as a Category D men’s and young offenders institution.

Sherfield’s escape is the latest in a series of troubling incidents within the prison system.

Authorities are also searching for a foreign national prisoner who escaped nearly a month ago. Ola Abimbola, serving a 21-year sentence, reportedly walked out of the open prison HMP Ford on October 16 and has not been seen since.

It was recently disclosed that he was temporarily released to attend his brother’s wedding.

Police have also initiated a manhunt for Palestine Action protester Sean Middleborough, aged 32, after he failed to return to custody.

An Algerian sex offender, aged 24, was arrested on Friday following a search after his mistaken release from Wandsworth.

Algerian-born Cherif was involved in this incident.

Another inmate, aged 35, who was mistakenly released from the same jail on Monday, voluntarily returned on Thursday.

He arrived at the prison with his partner, whom he embraced before walking towards the entrance while smiling for the cameras.

These errors have increased scrutiny on Justice Secretary David Lammy following the high-profile mistaken release of another inmate last month.

A two-day manhunt was triggered when a sex offender named Kebatu was accidentally released from HMP Chelmsford.
