Police have released CCTV footage of two men they would like to speak with following a tragic hit-and-run that resulted in the death of a pedestrian.

They shared the unclear images of the individuals dressed in black after the devastating collision in Medway, Kent.

The incident occurred near the junction with Waterside Lane in Medway.

The victim, a male pedestrian, was treated at the scene but was pronounced dead despite the paramedics' best efforts.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are seeking to question two individuals in connection with the incident.

Detective Inspector Zoe Wilczek stated: “While we understand the quality of these images isn’t perfect, we are still in the early stages of our investigation, and we appreciate everyone who has provided images and witness statements so far.

“We encourage anyone with relevant information regarding the incident or these men to contact us.”

Police were observed patrolling the area around Eastcourt Lane and Grange Road, and a police helicopter was also seen nearby.

A witness reported hearing what she thought were gunshots.

However, local police have stated that they do not believe the alleged offenders were armed.

A reporter from KentOnline at the scene remarked: “All the roads in the area are cordoned off. In Eastcourt Lane, I saw two police officers and a police dog searching in a bush.

“There was also a police officer examining the road in Yokosuka Way.”

This comes just days after local police expressed a desire to speak with witnesses following an attack on a 19-year-old at a bar.

The incident occurred at a Slug and Lettuce in Bromsgrove, at approximately 1am on December 13.

A 19-year-old man sustained an eye injury after the reported assault on High Street.

Police are eager to speak with the woman in the CCTV images as part of their investigation.

It is believed she was near the scene at the time and may have valuable information.

A spokesperson from Bromsgrove stated: “Officers are keen to identify the person in the images below following an incident in Bromsgrove on Saturday, December 13.

“Around 1am at the Slug and Lettuce on High Street, a 19-year-old man was assaulted and suffered an eye injury.

“The individual in the images was seen nearby during the incident, and it is thought they could assist with inquiries.
