FORMER The Only Way Is Essex star James Lock has landed a new acting role three years after leaving the show behind.
The 39-year-old is all set to star in a new British short film mini series called ‘Absent Now Free’.

The news was announced by the film’s official page as they tagged James in the post.
They penned: “New cast member. We welcome to the cast James Lock playing the role of Frankie in ABSENT NOW FREE.”
Excited about his new role, James commented: “Let’s do this!”
His followers flocked to the comments section to congratulate him as one said: “Wow, you are looking amazing. And congratulations on your new role xx.”
Another social media user commented: “Good luck in your acting career James.”
Somebody else penned: “Well done James, so well deserved. Onwards & upwards. Good luck in this next chapter.”
Yet another said: “Congratulations, looking as good as ever!”
While a fifth added: “Amazing Lockie. Will be tuning into watch.”

Clearly serious about his new career, he expressed: “I’ve had auditions for some big USA blockbuster films and TV series already.
“I’ve been having one to one acting lessons online with a Jack Ryder he’s brilliant! He’s helping me take my acting to the next level.
“I’ve always wanted to be an actor, way before I was a reality TV star and Towie. It’s a life long ambition and dream.
“I know I have to earn my strips and graft from the bottom up and break the stigma of transitioning from a reality TV star to a respected actor and that’s exactly what I’m doing, grafting.
“I’ve got my acting coach and I’m having voice lessons to improve my accents I’m focused on what I want and the future.
“I have been cast in my first feature film, I can’t wait to start filming.”
James, known as Lockie on the show, joined Towie back in 2013 with best pal .
He was involved in many big storylines including his relationships with and as well as his clashes with his co-stars.
James was suspended from the show in 2014 following his arrest for possessing the class C drug ketamine and criminal damage.
He later pleaded guilty in court, received a conditional discharge, and paid an £85 fine, before returning to Towie that Summer.
After a decade on the programme, he left the show for good in 2023.
