Victory is seen as an absolute ‘formality’ – but that hasn’t stopped some from trying to gobble up some value.
And Ladbrokes have reported a load of cash on the former Supreme and Champion Hurdle king winning by seven lengths or more.
That’s been priced up at 5-2 having originally been 7-2 before the flood of money landed.
Three or more lengths is 1-2 while four or more lengths is still odds-on at 8-11.
Five or more lengths if 5-4 while six or more lengths if 15-8.
Punters are desperate to try to get some value about one of the most highly anticipated runs of the season.
If there is a shock to be had though, it could come from the Andrew Balding-trained Serviceman.
The former Owen Burrows runner has been clipped into 14-1 from 16s and could prove best of the rest.
Paddy Power spokesman Paul Binfield said: “Constitution Hill is steady at 2-13, although we cut him to 12-1 favourite (from 16 fav) yesterday for the Ebor, with the racing world expecting Mr Henderson’s stable star to do the business at Kempton this evening.
“But there is a few quid knocking around each-way for Serviceman, who was sent off favourite for a Lingfield maiden on his last start for Owen Burrows in 2024.”
Legendary boss Hendo will be eager to see another impressive turn from his former jumper.
The Seven Barrows supremo is reeling from the tragic as a result of the ‘severe infections’ he picked up during his recovery from a fractured pelvis.
The whole Flat season lies in front of Constitution Hill after tonight.
Although it appears one place he won’t be going is Australia.
Hendo said ‘ will Constitution Hill be making the 10,500-mile trip to run in November’s £5million Melbourne Cup.
