CONOR BENN has seemingly revealed that an imminent fight announcement is on the horizon.

‘The Destroyer’ has been on the sidelines since his one-sided beatdown of in their rematch at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last November.

, 29, revealed his intention to drop back down to welterweight in the aftermath of the fight and was made the mandatory challenger for the WBC strap the following month.

fans expected the Greenwich gladiator to sit on the sidelines to wait for the winner of champion Mario Barrios’ title defence against later this month.

But he’s appeared to suggest on Instagram that another fight is on the horizon.

Along with a series of snaps from his victory over Eubank Jr, he wrote with a ‘soon’ emoji: “FIGHT NEWS.”

The fight in question could potentially be a showdown with WBA 147lbs champ Rolly Romero, who hinted last month that he has a bout in the works.

Along with a video of himself hitting pads, Romero wrote on Instagram: “Fight date announced soon.”

Benn and Romero got up close and personal with one another at Madison Square Garden before ‘s super-lightweight showdown with .

Romero was calm but security quickly saw that tensions were rising and eventually pulled the pair apart.

Before the altercation, Benn revealed that he’d been eyeing a showdown with Romero for a while.

He said: “We’ve got Rolly there. Rolly is a fight we’d love to make.

“If we don’t make progress with any other developments by the end of the month, then we pull the trigger on getting the Rolly fight made.”

After the incident, he said: “He can get it tonight, or we can do it next.”
