VIWERS of The 1% Club love to get involved with the show from the comfort of their own homes, but one question left them fuming as several households were completely stumped.

Unlike many other shows, the questions can be worked out viarather than using trivia knowledge.

But one conundrum left fans scratching their heads, and it wasn’t the 1% one.

It was actually the 70% question that fans fumed was “much harder” than usual.

During the episode, which aired in October, contestants were asked: “What replaces the question mark in this sentence?”

The sentence then read: “Hot Hard Small Cold Easy ?”

Three multiple choice answers were given, with A being Big, B was Fast and C was slow.

A whopping 21 people in the studio were eliminated during the round as they failed to answer the question correctly – a much higher number than usual during the 70% question, which tends to be a much simpler one.

“Wow. There are now more blue people than a Smurf convention,” joked host Lee – with the eliminated contestant’s seat lights turning blue to signal they are out of the game.

Many at home watching were also left scratching their heads, but have you worked it out?

The answer was A. Big.

Reading out the explanation, Lee said: “The words all have an opposite within the sequence. Hot/Cold and Hard/Easy. Big replaces the question mark as the opposite of small.”

It’s not the first time an early question has knocked a wave of players out, fail on the 80% question.

And with a new season of the game show currently airing, two new specials are on the way to potentially leave even more players scratching their heads.

Later this month, a Valentine’s special of the show will air, while it’s first ever kids version is also set to hit screens.

The 1% club airs on Saturday nights on ITV.
