Real Madrid manager, Xabi Alonso, has made it clear that his attacking players must contribute in the defensive phase of the game.
Alonso stated this during his press conference ahead of their final Club World Cup group game against Salzburg.
Los Blancos go into the game with four points after two fixtures and need one more to confirm their spot in the last 16.
“In my view, we all have to defend. The 11 players have to press.
“Vinicius Jr, Jude, Fede Valverde, Mbappé. All of them,”; Alonso said.
Alonso also spoke on the decision to leave Rodrygo on the bench for all 90 minutes in their last game against Pachuca.
He added: “I see Rodrygo in good shape. He was on the bench for a technical decision.
“He’s still important, and we will need him at the Club World Cup. He’s a special player and will play a key role.”;
