CELEBRITY TRAITORS fans have finally learned the identities of Claudia Winkleman’s two murderous stars in season two’s gripping opening episode.
Viewers have been eagerly awaiting reveal since the all-star cast was officially announced by the Beeb back in May.
In tonight’s premiere, the 21 castle-bound celebrities were summoned to the round table for the traitors selection, where Claudia made her choices.
Heels clacking in the silence, as the celebs sat blindfolded, Claudia strode up to and pinched her on the shoulder, prompting a mischievous smile from the host – and first traitor.
After a few more laps of the table, Claudia chose actor and national treasure Richard E Grant as Maya’s accomplice and official second traitor.
It was then that Claudia concluded the traitors selection – which left viewers puzzled at home.
Traditionally, three traitors are chosen by Claudia to murder in the castle.
It wasn’t until after the stars had removed their blindfolds, that Claudia let slip the shock twist.
The 54-year-old explained that the Traitors line-up would only become complete after the first murder had taken place.
Claudia’s cryptic comments prompted some baffled faces from the stars as they took the information in.
While Maya and Richard remained composed following the selection they later shared their delight at their traitors status in separate pieces to camera.
A beaming Maya said: “I wanted to bring a different side of me out and here she is: villain era has begun.”
Meanwhile, a chucking Richard E Grant declared: “I’m absolutely thrilled and I cannot wait to start murdering them – I cannot wait.”
