CLAUDIA Winkleman will hand out the Crufts Best In Show trophy for the first time to his year’s winning dog this afternoon.
In her first year as a member of Channel 4’s hosting team she’ll join experts in presenting the solid silver Keddell Memorial Trophy to the winning owner of this year’s prized pedigree.

Claudia has proven a hit with viewers and attendees throughout the weekend, and was given multiple gifts by fans running stalls throughout the weekend – including a toy Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, a replica of her own dog Skip, and a cushion with an emblem of Skip on it.
Claudia, 54, was able to move through crowds at the event with the help of two security guards.
A source close to Crufts slobbered: “Claudia was besieged by fans, all desperate for selfies, wherever she went – people were clambering to meet her.
“She adored meeting everyone, though she especially enjoyed meeting the dogs – and apologised to some fans for being ‘so orange’ in their photo with her.
“She really got stuck in amid the crowds, so she needed a bit of help from her security team to get her around all eight halls, or she would never have made it in time to film all her segments.
“But at every opportunity she would stop to pet a dog and say hello to guests.
“She kept saying it was one of the best days of her life, and you could really tell how much she was enjoying herself.”
On Friday, Claudia helped groom a spaniel to the delight of the competitors in the dog grooming contest.
She then cheered on her friend and fellow Channel 4 team member and former Britain’s Got Talent winner Ashleigh Butler as she took part in agility events.
Last year, the Best in Show trophy was handed to winner Miuccia, a four-year-old Whippet from Venice, Italy, and her owner Giovanni Liguori by Tony Allcock, the chairman of the Kennel Club.
Crufts coverage continues on Channel 4 at 3:30pm today.
