Super-welterweight Lee Cutler has been a regular sparring partner for the last TEN YEARS and has watched his rise up close and personal.

And Cutler, who was used in the camp before the first fight, said the son of a legend is looking better than ever and sparring over longer four-minute rounds.

That is after bringing esteemed American trainer back into the fold.

Cutler, 29, said on SunSport’s No Glove Lost episode: “I’ve been sparring him since I was about 18 years old and this camp. He’s on form.

“I don’t know if it’s out there, but he’s doing four minute rounds at the minute, four minute rounds, 30 second break.

“On a couple of occasions, I’ve done all the rounds with him, a few times he’s had other sparring partners that are jumping in, which you can’t take too much from those spars because obviously I’m fresh and he’s not.

“But he’s looking fantastic. One of his best camps. I sparred him in his last spar leading into the Liam Smith rematch.

“And I also sparred him for the first Liam Smith fight and it’s definitely one of his best camps.

“He’s looking good, he’s obviously taken it seriously, so I’m looking forward to the fight.”

Cutler was often told to replicate Benn’s explosive and powerful style, and has warned the 29-year-old not to get into too close quarters.

He said: “Sometimes it’s all in and it’s all go. But then sometimes it’s, ‘Lee stick it on him and get close.’

“And I’m like, you don’t want to get close to Eubank because that’s when he lets his hands go.

“That’s one thing I would say to Conor Benn is, the closer you get to Eubank, the more you’re just gonna play into his hands.

“I think it’s down to Conor Benn really. I think in the first fight, where he was inactive, he was wasting a lot of energy early with a lot of movement that was unneeded early.

“He needs to save his energy. We all know Chris can go and when he goes, he does go. And I think he just wasted too much energy early, Conor Benn last time.

“But like I said, Chris is always fit, Chris is always ready and in good nick. So yeah, it’s gonna be another great fight.”

Predicting the bout, Cutler said: “I think you’ve got to go with the bigger man, he’s taking it serious this time as well. But I’ve also heard good things coming out of the Conor Benn camp.

“Not that I’ve been involved, but a few pals through boxing that I know watched him spar and sparred him, so yeah, I’ve heard good things there but you’ve got to go with a bigger, stronger man.”
