And the middleweight – who beat Benn in their initial April grudge bout – claimed he had been through “hell and back”

He added further concern after hinting at ongoing health concerns.

After seeing the worrying footage, Jones revealed he reached out to Eubank, who is now resting and recovering back in his adopted home of Dubai.

Jones, 56, told SunSport at the : “I text him today and I just wanted to check and make sure he’s OK.

“Because no matter what people go through in life, you want to see people do well, you want to see people healthy.

“You wanna always see him do well. So I was really concerned about him when I saw that video because I didn’t know.

“Actually, one of my other ex-fighters, James Wilkins, sent me a video and said we gotta pray for him.

“I was like, ‘Who is that?’ He says, Chris Eubank. I said, ‘Oh no.’ So I hit the video, opened it.

“I was like, ‘Oh my gosh.’ So it breaks my heart because you never wanna see anybody that you know, especially when you don’t wanna see nobody doing bad at all, but definitely somebody that you know.”

Eubank’s dad – who started the Benn feud after beating Nigel in 1990 before their draw three years later –

The British boxing great feared for his eldest’s safety having to twice make the 160lb limit and subsequent 10lb rehydration clause.

And Jones said: “The dad probably did know better. The dad knows because he’s been through it.

“So of course I understood the dad’s concerns too, even more now than even back then. So yeah, the dad definitely probably knew what he was talking about.”

Eubank – who has been a professional since 2011 over 39 fights – left his career in question after posting his haunting hospital video.

He told fans: “I’ve been dealing with a lot of health issues over the last year & yeah it all finally caught up to me last month.

“I will not box again until I’m back to 100% & I don’t know when that will be, but one thing’s for certain…

“For the fans that have supported me through thick & thin, I will do everything in my power to make sure that one day, the old me makes a big comeback.”

Jones, who boxed on till he was 54, was probed on Eubank retiring and said: “It all depends on how his body feels.

“If his body comes back right, Chris has a very good mind and a very good engine.

“If his body does not fail him, he’ll be fine but that’s what we got to see first how his body comes back.”
