CHRIS EUBANK JR has been lined up for a return to the ring against Edgar Berlanga, according to reports.

The fighter has been out of action since his in November.

But now Eubank, 36, could face an opponent with a controversial history.

According to Sports Illustrated Chris Mannix , a deal is being worked on for Eubank to face Berlanga.

Berlanga, 28, boasts a 23-2 record but has lost two of his last three fights – one of which was against .

The American was even banned from the sport in 2022 after attempting to in a contest at Madison Square Gardens.

The incident was missed by the referee but Berlanga admitted it afterwards, almost boasting.

He said: “He was throwing elbows. I was about to do a on him.

“He kept throwing his elbows and pushing it out. I didn’t want to get cut.”

Berlanga later apologised for his comments following criticism.

But he as fined $10,000 and hit with a six-month ban.

He won his return fight against Padraig McCrory on points, before losing to Alvarez.
