to update her friends and family and sadly explained that her son, Beau, might need a second surgery.
She captioned the video clip “All went well, MRI booked as they need to check some things. He might need another operation.”
However, dressed in a grey jog set, black jacket and blue woolly hat, Beau appeared happy and carefree as he walked beside her.
In a later snap, he posed angelically for the wrote: “We need a holiday.”
Last Thursday, – who appeared on from 2015 to 2019 – wrote alongside a video of her son Beau in hospital: “I didn’t know whether to share this with the world or not, as he’s my baby & as a parent you’re always protective over your child. I’m sharing to help others and raise awareness.
“After receiving the dreaded phone call NYE 2pm that no parent ever wants to receive, I was told Beau had been in a terrible accident.
“He fell over ice skating & someone ran over his finger with their bladed skates, which took his finger off.
“I’m not even sure how I got into the car and drove the 45 minutes to him, if I’m honest — it was all a complete blur.
“When I arrived, he was wrapped up in a silver medical blanket. His little face melted my heart, and I did my best to hold back the tears so I didn’t upset him.
“He kept telling me, “It’s fine mum, you don’t need to cry, I’m OK. My finger’s going to be OK.”
“We were blue-lighted to The Royal London, where they checked him over and did X-rays. He finally went down for surgery at around 8pm.
“Watching your child be put to sleep is probably the worst thing I’ve ever experienced — it’s incredibly distressing, and I honestly wouldn’t wish it on anyone.”
She continued: “After 3.5 hours in surgery, I was called down so I could be there when he woke up.
“The plastic surgeon told me everything went well. We then went back up to the ward, where I watched him sleep.
“This video was taken from the window on New Year’s Eve. It’s made me reflect on how precious life is, and how everything can change in a matter of seconds.”
the accident had prompted her to campaign for a change in the law to make sure the same accident doesn’t happen to other children.
She said: “As I’ll never be able to bring his finger back, I’d love all your support in helping me change the Law to stop this happening to other children.
“I’ve started a Petition with the government ‘to make it compulsory for children to wear protective gloves while ice skating’.
“With 100,000 signatures this petition will be considered for a debate in parliament.
“I’d be grateful for all your help. I hope one day I can tell Beau I changed the law because of him.”
