Wardley became a world champion last year after defeating Joseph Parker in a final eliminator to face Oleksandr Usyk who was the undisputed champion.
The Ukranian decided to vacate the title and Ipswich-born Wardley was promoted to champion.
From white collar boxer to world champion, Wardley now looks set for a big stadium fight for the first time in his career.
Dubois hasn’t fought since a comprehensive loss to Usyk last summer at Wembley, but at 28-years-old, he remains a dangerous challenger in the heavyweight division.
Many fans won’t forget the damage Dubois did at Wembley once before when he knocked out Anthony Joshua.
Wardley’s manager Michael Ofo has now also revealed that talks are underway to make the all-British affair.
He told Sky Sports : “We were pursuing a fight with Chisora or Wilder for April 4, but they took refuge in each other’s arms.
“As for Daniel Dubois, clearly that’s a fight that Fabio would be well up for.

“So they’ll probably fight end of April early May.”
Chisora will face former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder at the O2 Arena on April 4 and that has left Usyk as the odd man out in the division despite holding the majority of the gold.
Usyk looked favourite to face Wilder before the American pivoted to Chisora where both men will contest their 50th fights.
Now names like Andy Ruiz Jr and kickboxer Rico Verhoeven are in the frame to keep Usyk busy.
