is the vice-captain of ‘s side, and the acting leader while remains absent through injury.

But that has not stopped him making a series of nods to a potential summer transfer exit, with one European giant appearing to be his preferred destination.

The saga began with some reckless comments after Chelsea’s embarrassing 8-2 aggregate defeat to PSG last month, which saw them tumble out of the .

When asked after the match about a potential move in the summer, : “I don’t know, there are eight games left and the . There’s the World Cup and then we’ll see.”

The lack of commitment, especially after such a significant defeat put Chelsea fans on edge.

But many became truly frustrated with the midfielder – who arrived for a fee of £105million from in 2023 – when he he would love to live in one day.

He told Argentine outlet LuzuTV: “I always tell Valu that if I have to choose a city to live in Europe, I really like Madrid. It’s very similar to Buenos Aires.”

The Telegraph also claim that Fernandez has been increasingly vocal in the dressing room amid Chelsea’s torrid form, in which they have lost their last four games in all competitions.

He was even seen berating and even throwing a ball at keeper Filip Jorgensen after the Dane’s howler cost the Blues a shot at a comeback against PSG.

But it seems that behaviour is beginning to rub his colleagues the wrong way, especially in tandem with his attempts to leave the door open for a potential summer exit.

The current Chelsea squad are not the only stars who have had enough of the Argentine’s behaviour.

Iconic ex-Blues midfielder ripped into his conduct after the PSG defeat, and told him to “f*** off” if he is not committed to the team.

He said on his Obi One podcast : “You were the captain in that game and you come out and make those statements… How would that go down well with the senior players in the dressing room?

“For him to come out and make such a statement after we’ve been disgracefully dumped out of the Champions League, and you come out after wearing the captain’s armband…

“If he’s had enough, put your hands up, f*** off and we move on. No player is bigger than the football club, especially a club as huge as Chelsea.”

Mikel played 372 times for the West London outfit after arriving as a teenager.

He spent over a decade with the side, and is still as passionate about the club as the day he left.

He added: “You cannot come out and say that, it doesn’t matter what is going on.

“It doesn’t matter what is happening, you’re being paid handsomely to be at this football club, you should be grateful that you’re playing for a club like Chelsea.

“When you come out and make that statement, that is very, very disrespectful to the football club and to the fans.”
