EX-BARCELONA star Paco Alcacer quietly retired from football a year ago.

The Spanish striker won the title with the Catalan giants in 2017/18, starring alongside the likes of , , and current star .

He had joined the outfit from boyhood club , where he had broken through before leaving in 2016.

Alcacer stayed in for two years before joining on loan.

In he enjoyed an electric start to his time with Dortmund, scoring 12 goals in the opening 11 games to mark him out as one of the most clinical strikers in Europe at the time.

However, the forward’s career started to fizzle out after that, returning to before going to clubs Sharjah and Emirates.

Alcacer left Emirates in 2024, but has not yet joined a new club.

And according to Marca , that is because Alcacer decided to hang up his boots.

The outlet reports his agency, Toldrá Consulting, have fielded plenty of calls enquiring about the now 32-year-old.

But the Torrente born star did not want any grand celebrations and decided to quietly retire without an official announcement or fuss.

Post retirement Alcacer was seen at his old stomping ground the Mestalla to watch Valencia in action.

Overall he netted 171 goals in 461 games, while also racking up 12 goals in 19 appearances for the Spanish national team.
