CHELSEA continued their winning start to pre-season under Xabi Alonso as a young team won a behind-closed-doors friendly.

The Blues faced side Bromley and got a 3-0 victory with a host of teens involved.

Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens, and Emmanuel Emegha scored the goals.

Academy defender Landon Emenalo, who is yet to feature for the senior side, started the match.

Emenalo, 18, is son of former club sporting director Michael, who is now chief of the Saudi Pro League.

Landon has been one of the top performing kids at Cobham over the past two seasons.

And new boss Alonso is trusting his youth with several stars still away on holiday after the World Cup.

Midfield pair Reggie Walsh (17) and Reggie Watson both came on as subs.

They have been in first team training under Alonso since players returned for summer work last week.

Walsh made his adult debut in 2025 in the Conference League and has four appearances to his name.

Watson is the son of ex-Wigan FA Cup winner and hero, Ben.

He joined from Crystal Palace‘s academy in 2024 and has been making waves for his exceptional set piece ability.

Mahdi Nicoll-Jazuli, also 16, was another second half sub. Calvin Diakite and Ryan Kavuma-McQueen, both 17, played as well.

Kavuma-McQueen made his senior debut in the FA Cup earlier this year.

This is Chelsea‘s second pre-season clash. They beat fellow League Two side Crawley on Saturday.

That ended 3-1 with Emegha and Gittens on the scoresheet then as well.

Emenalo was the only academy hopeful to start both games.

Chelsea travel out to Australia on Friday for their tour with plenty of the youth players expected to be included in a large squad.

Alonso’s men will face Western Sydney Wanderers on Tuesday, July 28, and then Tottenham four days later.

They have games against Juventus, AC Milan, and Johor Darul Ta’zim in Hong Kong.

Then they return home to play Alonso’s former side Real Sociedad at Stamford Bridge a week before the Prem starts.
