Chelsea hand Pedro Neto new SIX-YEAR contract just weeks after being linked with Man City transfer exit

PEDRO NETO is set to stay at Chelsea until at least 2032 under a fresh deal.

The Portuguese winger attracted interest from across Europe this summer, but the allure of convinced him to stay.

Neto, who will receive a pay rise, will also have the option of an extra year on top of his five-year agreement.

His Blues season got off to a flying start, already boasting five appearances and two goals in less than three weeks.

He said: “It’s an unbelievable moment. From when I arrived, I have always felt like the people here helped me a lot.

“I feel like home here, I feel like I want to achieve more things here.

“I’m really excited because I think we can achieve a lot of things together.”

Neto has been under the cosh as his new boss moulds him into a wing-back, but the Basque boss has been impressed so far.

Alonso said: “He has many qualities, he can play on the last line and defend on the first line.

“He has the capacity to do many things.

“He is good one-v-one, scoring goals, he has a fantastic work rate and connects very well with the players around.

“I knew him well from watching many games. With him you know he is going to compete and you want these kinds of players in your team.

“I am very happy with Pedro and the work he is doing.”

While the 26-year-old was never taken off the transfer table this summer, his to lingering clubs.

He was even in the summer as former Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca looked to bolster his ranks.

Joao Pedro, and Moises Caicedo have similarly agreed fresh deals with improved terms as Stamford Bridge looks to a new era under Alonso.

Neto joined the west London outfit for £51.4million from Wolves in 2024 and has since racked up a whopping 108 appearances, scoring 21 goals and providing 19 assists.
