CHELSEA is in discussions to appoint former Liverpool director of scouting and recruitment, Dave Fallows, to a senior sporting leadership position.
Fallows, 65, played a pivotal role in securing key signings such as Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, and goalkeeper Alisson during his tenure at Anfield.

During his time with the club, they achieved success in both the Premier League and European competitions, while also making significant investments in the future of the team and acquiring established stars to lead them to triumph.
After departing Liverpool in October 2024, he is now expected to join Chelsea, where he will play a vital role in scouting, player development, and football operations.
Currently in talks with the club's management, he will collaborate with sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart.
Additionally, he will team up with co-directors of recruitment and talent, Joe Shields and Sam Jewell.
Like Shields, Fallows has also spent time at Manchester City, where he was instrumental in developing the club’s international scouting framework.
Perhaps Fallows' most notable achievement was Liverpool’s acquisition of Mohamed Salah from AS Roma.
After an impressive stint with the Italian club, he returned to Liverpool for £34 million in 2017, despite not being the first choice of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp at the time.
Klopp's initial preference was to sign German international Leon Goretzka from Schalke, who has since established himself as a solid attacking midfielder for Bayern Munich, but he certainly does not compare to Mo Salah.
Fallows also played a key role in the signing of one of Merseyside’s emerging talents, Ryan Gravenberch.
In 2023, after missing out on signing Moises Caicedo in favor of joining Chelsea, Liverpool dispatched chief scout Barry Hunter and Fallows on a ‘fact-finding mission in Munich’.
Whatever insights they gathered on Gravenberch, who was playing under Julian Nagelsmann at the time, must have been promising, as the Reds signed him on the summer transfer deadline day of 2023 for £34 million.
Meanwhile, Chelsea returned from international duty in excellent form, decisively overcoming Nottingham Forest.
Goals from Raheem Sterling, Nicolas Jackson, and Enzo Fernandez propelled the Blues to sixth place in the Premier League standings.
This result marked the end of the line for Forest's manager, as he was sacked.
The Australian's tenure was the second shortest managerial reign in Premier League history.
However, it was not a flawless afternoon for Chelsea, as defender Marc Cucurella received a red card in the closing minutes of the match.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino described the foul as “unnecessary.”
