ALVARO MORATA was sent off with two yellow cards in just ONE MINUTE after two reckless reactions.
Morata, 33, came on as a second-half substitute for Como, where he plays on loan from , during Saturday’s 2-1 loss to Fiorentina at Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia.
Como star Alvaro Morata talked himself into his first booking against Fiorentina
Then Morata put his head towards Luca Ranieri off the ball and the Fiorentina ace went down
The striker replaced ‘ starting centre-forward Tasos Douvikas in the 57th minute.
The Viola led 2-0 thanks to goals by Nicolo Fagioli as well as Moise Kean and the hosts really needed a reaction.
Como hit back on 77 minutes after Fabiano Parisi’s own goal, but their fate was sealed in the 88th minute.
That was when talked himself into his first booking of the Serie A match.
And just 60 seconds later the former player put his head towards Luca Ranieri off the ball and the Fiorentina ace went down.
That led to the referee showing a second yellow card that saw the ex- star being given his marching orders.
The Spain international hasn’t managed to set the world alight during his second loan stint from Milan.
The Rossoneri also sent the ex- star to Galatasaray last year in February.
So far the ex-Atletico Madrid star has only managed a mere one goal and two assists in 18 appearances during his debut campaign that saw him suffering a an adductor injury that shelved him for over a month.
The Spaniard plays second fiddle to Douvikas, who has amassed 11 goals and one assist in 28 matches across all competitions this season.
Morata has had quite a nomadic – yet impressive – career that saw him undergoing two stints at Real and Juventus as well as spending five years at Atletico.
Premier League fans remember him for joining Chelsea in 2017 after a then record £70million deal with Madrid.
However, Morata never managed to live up to expectations as a series of injuries limited him to a total of 24 goals and six assists in 72 appearances.
The centre-forward struggled to adapt and that led to a loan stint at Atletico in 2019 that turned into a permanent deal a year later.
