Credit: GettyCHAT GPT is understood to be down, with more than 8,000 reports in the past few hours.
Thousands of users across the country have reported problems with Open AI, which operates the popular chatbot.
According to data from Downdetector, reports peaked at 3.30pm this afternoon, when 8481 users logged problems with the large language model.
A status message on Open AI’s website reads: “We are currently experiencing issues.”
It confirmed users have been unable to load Chat GPT and Codex, its AI coding partner.
