DURING her 18 years in the industry, Charli XCX has racked up hit records – and drama.

The Music, Fashion, Film star has been embroiled in beef with everyone from and to Green Day.

But how has the original and popstar become involved in so much in-fighting and endless feuds?

The Sun’s Associate Bizarre Editor Howell Davies has covered Charli’s career since day dot and has the answers.

Howell said: “It’s quite funny that she’s got this reputation now, because for a long time, it felt like Charli just wasn’t that person at all.

“You know, she started off through MySpace, and it took almost a decade for her to hit the mainstream and hit the big time. And then all of these feuds have emerged since then, really.

“It happened because with Brat for the first time she thought I’m just gonna put exactly how I feel in this record. And because her former albums hadn’t had much scrutiny on them, there was no way she was expecting people to dissect the lyrics of these tracks in the way that they eventually did.

“Suddenly, you know, there’s a magnifying glass on every lyric on this record and everyone’s saying, well, I think I know who this is about.”

Charli and Lorde ended their drama when the New Zealand popstar featured on a remix of the duo’s diss track, Girl So Confusing.

But the feud with Taylor is still ongoing after the US superstar spotted herself in Charli’s track Sympathy is a Knife, then retaliated with Actually Romantic.

Other beef includes with FKA Twigs and Rina Sawayama.

And Howell has spotted there is often one man at the heart of it – Charli’s husband’s bandmate .

Taylor and FKA dated the 1975 frontman, whilst Rina was signed to his record label Dirty Hit.

On Showbiz Fix Uncut, host Felicity Cross said: “Do we feel like part of the reason Charli gets involved in all of this is her defending Matty? Has Matty got her on the payroll?”

Howell said: “Well, Charli is married to George, the drummer from 1975, right? So they’re very close.

“They’d also, you know, toured together before. They’d spent time together.

“I think she does feel a kinship with Matty Healy, but it’s quite interesting. In interviews more recently, she has sort of said, he is a bit like an annoying brother to her.”
